Scheduling & Service
Are you really open 24/7?
Yes. 720-310-3798 answers around the clock — routine scheduling during the day, emergency dispatch any hour of the night. Chimney fires, storm damage, CO alarms, and active leaks never wait for morning.
How far in advance should I book?
Spring through early fall: usually within the week. October–December: book as early as you can — the first cold snap sends the whole Front Range to the phone at once. Annual-plan members get priority year-round.
Do you charge for estimates?
No — estimates are free, written, and based on an actual look at your system, with photos of anything we find.
What should I do before your visit?
Just don't burn for 24 hours beforehand so the system is cool, and clear a small working area around the hearth. We handle floor protection and cleanup.
Cleaning & Inspection
How often does a chimney need sweeping?
NFPA 211 says inspect annually, clean as needed. Practically, on the Front Range: annual for regular burners, more often for daily mountain-home burning, and always after any suspected chimney fire.
What's a Level 2 inspection and when do I need one?
It adds a full video scan of the flue interior, and it's the standard at home sale/purchase, after a chimney fire or other damage event, and when changing the appliance or fuel on a flue.
Will sweeping make a mess in my house?
No — this is the question that built our reputation. Drop cloths, sealed openings, and HEPA-filtered vacuums mean your living room ends the visit cleaner than it started.
Do gas fireplaces really need annual service?
Yes. They fail quietly — no smoke, no drama — so combustion and venting problems go unnoticed without instruments. Annual service is also what keeps most manufacturer warranties valid.
Repairs & Costs
How do you price repairs?
Assessment first, photos second, written scope and price third — approved by you before work begins. The approved price is the final price.
Repair or rebuild — how is that decided?
Structure decides. Sound core and foundation → targeted repair. Leaning stack, deep cracking, or failed inner walls → partial or full rebuild. Either way you'll see the evidence behind the recommendation.
Does homeowners insurance cover chimney damage?
Often yes for sudden events (chimney fires, storm and hail damage) and usually no for gradual wear. Our photo-documented inspection reports are exactly what adjusters ask for — many clients start the claim with our report.
Do your repairs come with a warranty?
Yes — workmanship is warranted, and components like stainless liners and quality caps carry manufacturer lifetime warranties we register for you.
Colorado-Specific
Does altitude really affect chimneys?
Genuinely. Thinner air weakens draft — flues that work at sea level can smoke at 6,000+ feet — and gas appliances typically need high-altitude configuration. It's a real factor in sizing liners and tuning appliances here.
Why do Colorado chimneys leak in spring?
Freeze-thaw: winter snow melts on sunny crowns, refreezes at night, and works through defects all season. Spring melt then delivers the accumulated result. It's the most Colorado leak pattern there is.
Is wood burning restricted along the Front Range?
On high-pollution winter days, some counties restrict burning in non-certified devices — one more reason modern EPA-certified stoves and inserts are worth it. We'll tell you what applies to your county and setup.
What wind rating should my chimney cap have?
Higher than the big-box default. We install mechanically anchored stainless caps as standard because Front Range Chinooks and mountain gusts routinely remove friction-fit hardware.
